Fire-rated joints are engineered systems, not just a bead of sealant — they need to meet the fire resistance requirements set out in the National Construction Code and the relevant Australian Standards for the assembly they're part of. We treat every penetration and control joint that way: identified, prepped, and sealed to hold its rating, with the documentation to back it up if a certifier asks.

Can you certify the work?

We install to tested systems and provide the installation documentation and penetration register. Final certification is issued by the building certifier or fire safety practitioner on the project.

Why does the system matter more than the product?

A fire rating is achieved by a tested assembly — substrate, penetration, backing and sealant together. Using the right sealant in the wrong configuration does not carry the rating.

What documentation do we get for handover?

A penetration register with location references, plus product data sheets for the systems used. It’s built to slot straight into the project’s compliance file.

Do you work on commercial and multi-residential sites?

Yes — fire-rated caulking mostly comes up on commercial and multi-residential jobs, where service penetrations and control joints need to hold a fire rating for the building to pass certification. We scope it the same way regardless of size: identify what needs to be rated, seal it properly, and leave the paper trail.
